Hot Yoga of East Nashville

I attended my first Hot 26 class at this studio’s original location in East Nashville having admired the owner and founder Brooke Asbury Allison from afar. She was one of my first Hot 26 teachers. I loved her style of teaching and that she brought her adorable black lab to the studio. I later found out from a Native magazine interview that she was a geologist and played the fiddle! She moved to Nashville from Seattle and built the first hot yoga studio in East Nashville. Along with growing the studio and moving to a larger location, Brooke has also opened up multiple locations of the Unisex Barbershop, Scouts. It was at the original Hot Yoga East location Ben and I had a weekly date of Hot 26 and dinner afterwards during our “courtship”. We still have yoga dates now that we’re married.

WHAT’S THE CLASS LIKE?

Since I moved from East Nashville I don’t get there as often but whenever I have the opportunity I check their schedule. They are one of the few studios around that offer Buti Yoga which I call Zumba Yoga. Not really, but it brings my two favorite things together, moving my body to music and stretching and strengthening through yoga.

As mentioned, they offer Hot 26 classes which I described on the YogaSoul blog, Power Flow (see Yoga Soul & Shakti blogs) and Buti, a mix of cardio, flow, sculpt and fun! There are two yoga rooms and most classes are heated however some are considered warm while others would definitely fall in the “hot” category.

HOW MUCH DOES A CLASS COST?

Hot Yoga of East Nashville has a strong community centered approach and open their studio to the community every Wednesday. According to the Free Yoga Wednesday posting on June 4, 2018 and the billboards that appeared around East Nashville about a year ago “(they) are offering free yoga to any and all on Wednesdays. (Yes, every Wednesday.) This includes all of the 15 class offerings from 6 am to 9 pm. A person need only show up at the studio to join a class.”

I have listed classes and times I found on the MindBody app offered for free or for a donation at Hot Yoga of East Nashville on Wednesdays. Always check with the studio first before attending.

All other information about classes and pricing can be found on their website.
